How do I start therapy with Anchor Well?

Is the consultation really free?
Yes. The 15-minute consultation is free, with no credit card required and no pressure to commit afterward.
How quickly can I start?
Many clients are matched and able to begin within 3–5 days, depending on therapist availability and scheduling needs.
Online Therapy
Do you offer in-person therapy?
No. Anchor Well is fully telehealth. Sessions are held through secure online video for clients located in Texas.
Is online therapy private?
Yes. Sessions are conducted through a secure telehealth platform. We also encourage clients to choose a private, quiet space for their appointments.
Can I do therapy from anywhere?
You must be physically located in Texas at the time of your session, because our clinicians are licensed to provide care in Texas.
Insurance and Cost
Do you accept insurance?
Anchor Well accepts select insurance plans, including BCBS, Aetna, and Optum, depending on clinician availability and plan details.
How much will I pay with insurance?
Many insured clients pay between $0–$40 per session, but your exact cost depends on your specific plan. We verify benefits before your first full session.
Do you offer private pay?
Yes. Private pay options are available. We’ll explain the rate clearly before you book anything beyond the free consultation.
Is couples counseling covered by insurance?

Marriage and Couples Counseling
Do both partners need to attend the consultation?
No. You can attend the consultation together or individually, depending on what feels easiest to start.
Do we need to be in crisis to start couples counseling?
No. Many couples start therapy when they feel stuck, disconnected, or caught in recurring conflict. You do not have to wait until things feel unfixable.
What can couples counseling help with?
