Howdy! I’m Mariam Hasnain, a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist Associate (LMFT-A). I earned my Bachelor of Science in Psychology from Texas A&M University (Gig’ Em!!!) and my Master of Education in Counseling with a focus on Marriage and Family Therapy from Lamar University.
I chose this path because I believe mental health care should reflect the diversity of the people it serves. Our identities, relationships, and environments all shape how we experience the world, and therapy works best when you feel safe enough to show up exactly as you are - without needing to explain or minimize parts of your story.
My approach to therapy is trauma-informed, inclusive, and relational. I view healing through a systemic lens, recognizing that our experiences, relationships, and environments influence how we see ourselves and connect with others. Creating a space that feels safe, collaborative, and supportive is central to my work.
I work with individuals, couples, and families navigating anxiety, relationship issues, life transitions, and trauma. Using systemic, eye movement desensitization reprocessing (EMDR), and emotionally focused therapy approaches, I help clients process difficult experiences, better understand patterns, and build more meaningful connections with themselves and others. I offer sessions in English, Urdu and Hindi. Therapy with me is compassionate, collaborative, and paced in a way that feels supportive and grounded.
